The Rani Mahal crest

Our Story

A haveli on the slopes of Mehrangarh Fort, standing through centuries of Jodhpur's history.

The Rani Mahal heritage plaque, since 1570 AD

The haveli was built by the Marwar ruling family as a private royal residence — a home for the Marwari queens, set into the slopes below Mehrangarh Fort. Generations later, it still carries the marks of that purpose: a sandstone façade, hand-carved pillars, painted frescoes, and the jharokha balconies typical of Rajput residential architecture.

The Lobby

The Lobby

What's striking on a walk through the haveli today isn't restoration for its own sake — it's how much of the original building simply never needed replacing. Period furniture, ornate mirrors, and courtyard details from the building's life as a royal residence are still in place, now alongside the comforts guests expect from a hotel.

It was never built to be a hotel at scale — it was built as a residence, and it still feels like one.
